During the years of the Soviet Union, Christmas was not celebrated officially. Instead, New Year took over the celebration, copying the symbolics of the holiday, i.e. Christmas tree, decorations, and gifts.

This exhibition shows the works from 1940-1980, by artists Natalia Gippius, Galina Shubina, Vadim Volikov, Svetlana Ryazanova, Vera Livanova, Galina Dmitrieva, Veniamin Briskin and Marina Uspenskaya.
